Megan Vernon

Megan Vernon has a BFA in Dance and Choreography from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Megan began her dancing and teaching career in Richmond, VA. She grew up performing in choir, theatre and dance. Megan performed with her high school as a soloist choral performer in several musicals. She met founder of Latin Ballet of Virginia (LBV), Ana Ines King while studying Spanish Character, Ballet, and Modern Dance in Williamsburg. She also studied Flamenco and Latin Dance with Ana Ines at VCU, department of Dance. Since then, Megan felt in love with Flamenco and Latin Dance styles. She began performing with the Latin Ballet in the year 1999. In addition to dance, Megan has studied Pilates and Yoga. She is pursuing her second Yoga teaching license. Megan has taught Yoga since 2007 and Pilates since 2003. Following her passion for helping others to live healthy and vibrant lives, she has volunteer at the Virginia Hospital as a yoga and meditation teacher in the poly trauma unit. Megan has directed educational dance programs for Art 180, West Hampton Day school, Neighborhood school of the Arts, The Jewish Community Center, and many other non profit enrichment programs designed to enhance arts in education. Megan also enjoys working in the film and television industry as a production assistant and local actor. She teaches Dance as Therapy, Dancing with the World and Contemporary Hip Hop at the outreach and after school programs of the Latin Ballet of Virginia.
