Join us for a joyful celebration of life, art, and culture at the annual Día de los Muertos Festival in Chester, Virginia! Hosted in partnership with the Latin Ballet of Virginia and the Perkinson Center for the Arts and Education, this vibrant community event honors the traditions of Día de los Muertos through live performances, music, dance (Latin Ballet of Virginia, Sacred Heart, Tradicion Dance Company), food from Latin Quarter, and hands-on art activities for all ages.

11:30 AM – Día de los Muertos Opening Performance | Latin Ballet of Virginia
12:30 PM - Sacred Heart Group
Sacred Heart Folklorico is a program of Sacred Heart Center that offers children and youth traditional Latin American and Spanish dance classes. Children ages 5 to 18 participate and perform at local festivals and celebrations in our community. Sacred Heart Center connects Latino families with tools to thrive and flourish, and last year served over 9,500 individuals through our educational and social services programs that empower families and individuals.
1:30 PM - Tradición Dance Company
Based in Richmond, Virginia, Salsa Richmond, LLC, is operating under the name Tradición Dance Company. We are deeply committed to raising awareness and fostering appreciation for the intricate tapestry of history woven into the music and folklore of Puerto Rico and various Latin American nations. Through an array of engaging workshops, captivating community performances, and special events, we invite our audience on a transformative voyage into the heart of these cultures, delving into their customs, traditions, and vibrant essence. Tradición Dance Company has graced prestigious stages across Virginia and beyond, leaving an indelible mark with our dynamic performances. From captivating audiences at venues like the Virginia Beach Convention Center, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and the Smithsonian, and was invited to participate in the Macy's Parade alongside esteemed groups like Danza Fiesta Dance Company, our dedication to cultural preservation and celebration shines through.
