Nicolás Guillén, "Nico” has been studying and performing with his mentor and second mother Ana Ines King of The Latin Ballet of Virginia since the age of 2, appearing in the Ballet's yearly schedule of performances.  His fierce passion for his Cuban heritage is reflected in his musicality, rhythm and love for Latin Dance. 

He has studied Cuban Orisha Dances with Melena "La Rumbera" and Ife Michelle. He studied Conga Drums and Percussion with Kevin Davis of Ban Caribe and famous Cuban Rumbera Artist  Alberto Limonta Perez and Studied Rueda De Casino with International Master, Jorge Luna Roque's AllStars De Santiago De Cuba

He has appeared in the major productions of The Latin Ballet of Virginia including but not limited to The Legend of the Poinsettia,  NuYoRican, Son Corazon, Carnaval, El Dia De Los Muertos, Fiesta Del Sol, Rumba Latina, Macondo and Alma Latina.

In 2017 he toured New York City with The Latin Ballet of Virginia's production of NuYoRican.  He also performed with the Ballet's 2017 production of El Dia De Los Muertos at Swift Creek Mill Theater.

He has performed twice with Melena "La Rumbera" in her autobiographical production "Melena: A Cultural and Musical Journey into My Afro-Cuban Roots, at Sycamore Rouge Theatre Petersburg, VA and Dogwood Dell Festival of Arts
