LBV Dancer Creates Nonprofit

Maya & Natalie Koehn-Wu Co-Directors and Sisters of Sisters Project Peru

Maya Koehn-Wu has been dancing for LBV since she was a tiny thing. She has grown up to be one of our most graceful and talented dancers, but during Covid 2020, her and her sister Natalie created more magic. Maya embraced the non-profit world she has been a part of through dance and has started one of her own.

Sisters Project Peru is dedicated to building a sustainable medical clinic in rural Peru. They are hoping to increase access to healthcare in order to better quality of life and empower women on a global scale. They recently hosted and art show at Fry Springs Beach Club with other UVA students. As we all know in the nonprofit world, funds are everything. Just as Maya enhanced us with her thriving talent, we want to in turn support her endeavors.

Please help Maya and Natalie’s mission to provide healthcare to the community of Huacahuasi by fundraising to establish a clinic that will be able to be used as a public clinic within the Peruvian medical system. With the construction and renovation of the clinics we hope to better the lives of the Peruvian indigenous population.

In addition, they hope to bring together a community of individuals who want to continue giving back to these rural Peruvian communities and work to expand and grow this organization to fundraise and to establish more clinics.
