Latin Ballet will be in New York City to perform, lecture and workshops!
The company will perform at the Bronx Academy of Arts & Dance (BAAD), El Taller Latino, and selected schools in Queens, New York. The featured work is NuYoRican, a collaboration with award-winning journalist, Julia Torres Barden, based on her book NewYoRicanGirl: Surviving my Spanglish Life. The work portrays the true stories of thousands of migrants to the United States and their triumph as they faced discrimination, assimilation, and political awakening upon their arrival after World War II.
