Professional Dance & Music Classes for all Ages: • African-Brazilian: Contemporary African dance technique and Brazilian forms of dance such as Samba and Capoeira. (Exercise clothes-bare feet) • Ballet-Tap: Introductory class for children. (Exercise clothes – Ballet slippers – tap shoes) • Ballroom Dancing: Basic steps and partnered dancing such as waltz, foxtrot, swing, rumba. • Belly Dancing: Introduction to Middle Eastern dance technique. (Exercise clothes – bare feet) • Capoeira: High Energy dance and Martial Art from Brazil. (Exercise clothes – bare feet) • Caribbean yoga: Flowing yoga postures and relaxation, designed to increase flexibility, strength, focus, and concentration. (Exercise clothes-bare feet- a mat) • Dance Theatre: Contemporary dance and improvisation techniques, working on expressive movements, correct posture, flexibility and presentation of dance. (Exercise clothes- bare feet) • Drums: An hour of basic Caribbean and Latin American conga rhythms. Percussion instruments will be included. • Flamenco: Classical and character Spanish dance form. Footwork, syncopation and Spanish dance technique. (Flamenco or character shoes - wide skirt) • Hippety Hop: Dacing to the fun music! Hip Hop for children that involves acrobatic exercises. (exercise clothes - jazz sneakers)• Hula Dancing: Traditional dance form from Hawaii with its origin in Tahitian dance technique. (exercise clothes - bare-feet)• Latin Ballet: Basic Ballet technique. Focuses on classical Spanish and Latin American dances. Pointe work will be included for Intermediate and Advanced Ballet. (Solid colored leotard – pink tights – pink ballet slippers) • Salsa: Authentic social Latin American and Caribbean dances with an emphasis on SALSA. Merengue, Bachata and Cha Cha Cha. Exercise clothes- character or jazz shoes)• Latin Jazz: Latin Jazz technique with Latin American rhythms, moving rapidly toward faster dynamics and more advanced skills. (Exercise clothes- bare feet or jazz sneakers) • Leaps & Turns: Focuses on proper techniques needed to perform leaps and turns found in Jazz and Ballet. Strength training and placement are important aspects which students will explore through fun, original patterns and combinations. (exercise Clothes - Ballet or Jazz shoes)• Modern Jazz: Contemporary dance - basic modern and jazz technique and improvisation. (Exercise clothes – Bare feet) • Soulsa: High enregy workout that tones the entire body, while dancing African Caribbean dances such as Salsa, Mambo, Reggae, Cucu and manjane. (Exercise clothes - Jazz sneakers)• Spanish Thru Dance: Participating in authentic use of Spanish language, through creative movement, directions and commands. (Exercise clothes – bare-feet) • Swing: East Coast swing. Will include turns spins, dips and drops tailored to the individual level of the student. (Exercise clothes – character shoes) • Tango: Authentic Argentinean social dance. (Character shoes) • Techno-Hip Hop: High energy street dance with dance technique, moving rapidly to advance skills. (Exercise clothes – jazz sneakers) • ZUMBA: Aerobic workout, dancing Samba, Cumbia, Salsa, Calypso, Reggae, Hip Hop and Rumba Flamenca.
