El Espantapajaro Solidario.
The Compassionate
Scarecrow is a testament to human strength and compassion.
Perucho, a little farmer boy, is dying of tuberculosis. Mother Nature
brings together the winds, birds, rivers, ocean, sirens and paradise birds
to help save Perucho's
life.
This is a story of love
and kindness, a poetic remembrance of the real value of life.
"Be compassionate with others and help everyone regardless of who they
are."

Little Perucho
and his father Tomas, a farmer, live up in the Andes Mountains of
Colombia, SA.
They have a plantation filled with flowers and fruits. Although Perucho
has tuberculosis, every morning he plays with the birds, his best friends! One special bird, a dove named Messenger, after
being attacked and losing an eye, was nursed until he could fly freely
again by Perucho.
Tomas
is very concerned for his plantation. It has not rained in months and
without a good harvest, he will not have enough money to take Perucho
to the hospital to save his life. So Tomas must make a hard
decision. He can no longer afford to share with the birds and must make a
scarecrow for his plantation to keep the birds away.
Scarecrow petrifies the birds. As the days pass, they become more and
more hungry and Perucho becomes sadder, missing his friends. The
birds songs are no longer happy but deep crying songs that can be heard
all the way to the ocean, days away.
The master
of birds, Owl, advises them to find Seagull, daughter of the
sea; for she is the only one who can talk to the monster
Scarecrow.
Messenger, the dove, volunteers to go
but she faces many challenges on her trip.
The Wind
refuses to allow Messenger to fly to the ocean, pushing her back to
the farm no matter how hard she flies. Eventually, the Wind agrees
to collaborate. Messenger uses her one good eye to navigate and the
Wind blows to send her over the ocean.
Next
Messenger encounters the mermaids, whom Owl warned her
about. Their wonderful voices make Messenger so relaxed and
peaceful that she wants to stay there forever. The mermaids trap
Messenger inside a crystal box and swim with her to the deep ocean.
But Messenger remembers her friends, the Mountain Birds, and
convinces the Mermaids that she is not feeling well underneath the
water and desperately needs some sun and fresh air. When the Mermaids
bring her to the surface, the rays of the sun put them into a deep sleep
and Messenger escapes to continue searching for Seagull.
The clouds
help Messenger to find Seagull, who after listening very
carefully to what Messenger needs, decides to help the Mountain
Birds. Messenger and Seagull travel towards the west. They
know they are close to Perucho's farm because their hearts feel the
sorrow of the mountain birds.
When
Seagull, daughter of the sea, meets the scarecrow, she asks why he
frightens away the mountain birds. Mr. Scare explains to her that
he is not a monster that will eats birds but only a manmade toy. That for
centuries, men have made scarecrows to help the crops grow and that
Tomas placed him in the field out of love and concern for his son,
Perucho, who is very ill. He explains the need for a bountiful crop to
sell and not having enough harvest to let the birds eat from his
plantation.
Seagull
understands Tomas' concern. He shares what he learned with Owl
and the mountain birds. Owl reviews his books and discovers that
Paradise Birds, who live where the crystal water is born,
can bring golden honey to the plantation, so the flowers, fruits and
vegetables will multiply and there will be plenty of food for everyone.
All the
birds fly very far away to find the Paradise Birds, who happily
agree to fly to the mountains with their golden honey. And all the seeds
start multiplying. The mountains once again are dressed with the most
beautiful colors. The mountain birds sing and dance, spreading their
happiness throughout the jungle, mountains, rivers and meadows.
Perucho,
with his sweet smile, brings his flute to sing with his friends, the
mountain birds. Just a little sound emerges because he is so ill, but all
birds fly closer to scarecrow because Perucho is hugging
him. He realizes how Mother Nature helped his father.
Perucho,
the mountain birds, and the Compassionate Scarecrow live together
in happiness forever.

was born in Bucaramanga, Colombia.
He studied medicine and journalism. He is the Dean of the Children’s
Education Faculty at the University Cooperative of Colombia. He has won
several national awards for literature. He performs Infantile
Psychotherapy based on his Children’s Magical and Cultural Storybooks.

Los estudiantes
del Latin Ballet
se enorgullecen en presentar, "El Espantapajaro Solidario," un
canto y a la vez un llamado a la solidaridad humana. Perucho un nino
campesino, esta muriendo de tuberculosis; su padre, Tomas, solo tiene la
esperanza de que su cosecha produzca el dinero para que lo curen. En ese
transcurso, la naturaleza entera acude unida y moviliza a su mitico tiempo,
las nuves, al mar con sus sirenas, las abejas y a todos los pajaros que
ella transporta en sus vientos, para que esa esperanza se cristalice.
Historia de amor y de ternura,
poeticamenete escrita en donde su autor,, Miguel Angel Perez, nos hace
recordar el verdadero sentido de la vida: "La SOLIDARIDAD humana"
El Espantapajaro Solidario
El pequeno Perucho y su padre,
Tomas viven
en una pequena granja de los Andes en Colombia. Tomas esta muy preocupado por sus
cosechas. No ha llovido en meses y Perucho esta muy enfermo, tiene
tuberculosis.
Tomas, se ve obligado a construir un Espanatapajaro para
que le ayude a alejar los
pajaritos de su granja, aunque ellos
son los mejores amiguitos de Perucho. Tomas necesita desesperadamente producir mas cosecha y comenzar a vender
las flores y frutos de su granja para poder llevar a su hijo al hospital.
Todos los pajaritos estan tan asustados de acercarse a la
granja de Perucho porque creen ver un terrible monstruo "el Espantapajaro."
El maestro de los pajaritos,
el Senor Buo les aconseja que la unica manera de salvarse del Espantapajaro
es buzcar a la Gaviota, la hija del mar, quien puede volar
tan alto y rapido como el viento. La paloma "Mensajera" se ofrece buzcar a
como de lugar a la Gaviota.
Mensajera viaja muy lejos en buzca de
Gaviota...mas alla de lo que
su propio corazon le permite volar, pero cada vez que cree estar muy lejos,
el Viento la trae de vuelta a la granja. Esta tan lejos del oceano y se
siente tan canzada de volar!
Finalmente el Viento colabora con
Mensajera porque se da cuenta de su asombrosa perseverancia. y usando los
ojos de Mensajera como brujula y su fortaleza para soplar, lleva a
Mensajera cerca al oceano.
Asi como el Senor
Buo
lo predijo, las voces
maravillosas de las Sirenas hacen que Mensajera se sienta tan embriagada de
felicidad que desea quedarse en el oceano con ellas de por vida. Las
Sirenas guardan a Mensajera en una caja de cristal y se preparan a llevarla
a las profundidades del oceano. Mensajera recuerda que su verdadero
proposito es buzcar a la Gaviota y convence a las Sirenas de que esta perdiendo el aire dentro de la cajita de
cristal. Una vez en la superficie, logra volar denuevo tras Gaviota.
Finalmente Mensajera encuentra a
Gaviota y pidiendole escarecidamente por su ayuda, vuelan rapidamente a las montanas para
salvar a sus amigos del monstruoso Espantapajaro. Con la ayuda del viento,
muy pronto regresan a la granja donde se siente la
tristeza y el miedo de los pajaritos de las montanas.
Cuando Gaviota, la hija del mar se
encuentra con Espantapajaro, le pregunta porque tiene que asustar a los
inocentes pajaritos de las montanas. El senor Espantapajaro le explica que el es
solo un muneco de paja y trapo, hecho por los seres humanos. Los pajaros han pensado por centurias que el es un monstro
pero la verdad es que los humanos los crean para cuidar que los pajaros no se coman las
cocechas. Tomas esta muy preocupado por su hijo que se morira si no consigue
el dinero para llevarlo al hospital y por eso construyo su propio espantapajaro para que
la cocecha fuera mayor.
Al entender
la explicacion de Espantapajaro, El Senor Buo, Gaviota y
Mensajera se ponen a estudiar sus libros
sabios y comprenden
que si viajan donde el agua cristalina nace en las montanas y les piden
ayuda a los Pajaros del Paraiso, ellos podran enviar a las abejas obreras
quienes se encargaran de traer mucha miel dorada. La cocecha crecera y
crecera y habra suficiente para todos.
Perucho, con su sonrisa dulce trata de
tocar su flauta para invitar a cantar a sus amigos, los pajaritos.
Solo un pequeno sonido puede salir de su flauta. Esta tan debil! Todos los
pajaritos comienzan a cantar para hacerlo feliz. Perucho se acerca al Espantapajaro y sus amigos los Pajaritos vuelan por fin sin miedo al rededor.
Las montanas se visten con los mas vivos colores llenos de preciosas flores y
frutas.
Gracias a la alianza de la madre naturaleza
Perucho ha salvado su
vida. Todos sus amiguitos, los pajaritos y el Espantapajaro Solidario viviran por siempre felices poque han aprendido el verdadero sentido de la
vida: la solidaridad humana.
Miguel Angel Perez
nació en Bucaramanga, Colombia. Estudió medicina y periodismo. El es el
decano de la facultad de Educación Infantil en la Universidad Cooperativa de
Colombia. El ha sido galardonado con varios premios nacionales de literatura.
El tambien desarrolla sicoterapias infantiles basadas en sus magicas y
extraordinarias historias literarias.
